For 16 years as a dog trainer, I know how much impact we have on our dogs. It is hidden from our view, that our frustration, anger, upset, unfulfilled wants, unhealthy boundaries get in the way of having the bond we always wanted with our dogs. I realized I was not serving my clients if I did not offer a solution to this problem. Now I am in the process of being certified as a nature connected life coach.

If you are someone who struggles with

  • Self-care
  • Putting yourself last

Testimonial

I have had life coaching sessions with Heather. She is an amazing teacher. She has made me aware of my afraid inner child and how to connect with her to get my traumas healed. Do a vision board to define what I want for my life and work towards those goals. Taught me to focus on beauty, the positive and all my blessings in my life. Write a blessings diary. Thanks to her coaching, I identified that a cough, that I always thought was some type of allergy, was indeed triggered by an uncomfortable feeling. She taught me to be conscious that something was irritating me and deal with it appropriately.

ABOUT ME

Heather Szasz

My journey into the world of dog training commenced three decades ago in England when I became the proud owner of my first puppy, a spirited Airedale Terrier named Sharka. During this period, I had the privilege of training alongside Geoff Grinham, renowned as the author of the book "Dog Training and Behavior." You can even spot Sharka and me featured in Geoff Grinham's book. It's worth noting that this was 30 years ago, and I've undergone a transformation in appearance since then!

Life took an unexpected turn, leading me to Florida for an extended 22-year stay. As I hadn't obtained certification as a dog trainer in England, I ventured into the residential house cleaning business. After a few years of managing my cleaning enterprise, I decided to pause and ponder, "What do I truly aspire to do?" The answer resided in my passion for becoming a certified Professional Dog Trainer, which prompted my enrollment at the Animal Behavior College, culminating in graduation.

Over the past 14 years, my journey has been filled with one-on-one client engagements, enjoyable agility classes, and mentoring students from the Animal Behavior College. My dedication extended to working with rescue organizations, spanning nine years of voluntary service, with the last two years spent as a trainer in a remarkable prisoner/shelter dog program. In total, we've successfully trained and found homes for 75 dogs.

Seven years ago, I relocated to the Charleston area of South Carolina, where I continued to devote my time to volunteering at shelters and a sanctuary. My commitment to ongoing education ensures that I remain at the forefront of dog training, striving to be the best trainer for you and your beloved canine companion.

Below, you'll find some of the certifications I've attained, each representing a commitment to excellence in dog training. You're welcome to click on any of the badges to explore the respective websites and delve deeper into my qualifications.
